How to clean your vinyl
Keep your vinyl records looking brand new
Vinyl records are a beautiful thing. They’re also very difficult to clean. Here are some tips on how to keep your vinyl records in good condition.

Start with a good cleaning solution.
You should start by using a good quality record cleaner. This will help remove dirt and grime without damaging the surface of the record. If you use too much cleaner, you might damage the record’s finish.

Let it dry completely before storing.
After cleaning, let the record air dry completely. Then store it away in a cool, dark place. Don’t put vinyl records near heat sources such as radiators or heating vents.

Don’t use harsh chemicals or abrasives.
If you do decide to clean your vinyl records with soap and water, make sure to rinse off the surface thoroughly before drying. You should never use anything abrasive, like sandpaper or steel wool, to clean vinyl records. This will damage the surface and cause permanent discoloration.

Store vinyl in a cool, dark place.
Vinyl records need to be stored in a cool, dry environment. They should not be exposed to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures. It’s recommended that you store them in a sealed plastic bag.

Protect from dust and humidity.
Dust buildup on vinyl records can cause damage to the record itself. If you notice any discoloration or cracking, use a soft cloth to wipe away dust. You can also use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove dust.
